An Afternoon of Contemporary Art in Phnom Penh by Tuk Tuk

Had an excellent art tour with Jackson. Murals were inspiring to show how people have survived hardship and expressed their resilience. The art in the galleries blew my mind was so touching.

what a brilliant tour with JB who was funny, good banter and knowledgeable about art but also encouraging you to think about what it represented for you. He shared the story behind the lane of graffiti which was important to understand. He also shared cultural aspects he has learned sincce being in Cambodia which stimulated discussion so this was no ordinary art tour. The gallery of 3 or 4 Cambodian artists was really powerful and the history behind their experiences and how they came to art was powerful and important to understand. Street art in Phnom Penh doesn't feel the same as other place

It was great to get some additional history and context on the art and graffiti in Phnom Penh. It was also cool to see a local gallery and some walls that I certainly wouldn't have found on our own, and helpful to get JB's insight om the meaning behind many of the public art pieces.

What a great tour! Jackson was extremely knowledgeable about art, history and Phnom Penh in general. We learnt a great deal and visited places we would have had no idea about if we hadn’t taken this tour. I thoroughly recommend this tour!

This was an amazing experience! Our guide knew all the hidden gems and it was incredible to see this part of contemporary Cambodian art & culture. This was a great way to round out our trip, which had focused on a lot of the past/history, as it gave some insights into modern Cambodian culture!

Highly recommend! This experience took me to corners of the city i never would have found by myself. From forgotten neighbourhoods, indoor and outdoor galleries and even a hidden garden cocktail bar that was showcasing local talent. I think it is a perfect Phnom Penh experience and i learnt so much about not only the art scene, but culture, history and everyday life. Thank you!
