Full description
This is a 4-hour experience from Phnom Penh, built around Ferry, Koh Oknha Tei and Silk island. It is run by Cambo Tours Services, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Phnom Penh sits where the Mekong, the Tonle Sap and the Bassac meet, and the riverfront promenade along Sisowath Quay is where the city walks in the evening. Koh Dach, the silk island, is a short ferry upstream and still has weavers working handlooms under their houses, selling direct. Oudong, 40 kilometres north-west, was the royal capital for more than 250 years until 1866 and its hilltop stupas hold the ashes of kings. The Central Market's art deco dome opened in 1937 and the Russian Market, properly Psar Toul Tom Poung, is the one for silver, silk and knock-offs.

We had an amazing time with Ted on our cycle through the Silk Islands. It was definitely a highlight of our time in Cambodia. The scenery was really beautiful, and we made multiple stops along the way that provided a lovely perspective into multiple aspects of Cambodian life and culture. Our family enjoyed ourselves tremendously! We’ve got an 8 and 12 year old but booked a private tour cos our younger one wasn’t as confident. The terrain is mostly flat and easy so it turns out we didn’t really have to worry. The kids enjoyed getting to see so much of the countryside and learning about how Cambodians live, getting an idea of how silk is made and a whole bunch of other interesting bits of information. Really great tour. we went around the islands by bike, outside the noisy Phnom Penh. we learned a lot about agriculture and Buddhist practices. Highly recommended.
Ted, our guide, was great ! He took good care of us, the riding tour was really easy and smooth, it was lovely to discover the Mekong islands. I really do recommend this tour, it was really the highlight of our stay in Phnom Penh.
Ted was an excellent guide . Very knowledgeable and friendly . He took us to some fantastic spots in the villages on our route. We ended the day with a delicious lunch . Bikes and helmets were very good . Directions for the meeting point were unclear , we soon rectified the issue with Ted . Meeting instructions need to be clearer.

Fantastic! We loved taking the ferries, riding the bikes, and seeing a quieter side of Cambodia. The tour of the silk weavers was really informative and special. The local fruits and lunch were awesome as well. Our guide did a great job of telling us about different parts of Cambodian culture that we would not have known otherwise. Highly recommend!
I had a great experience with Ted today - it was only me and the guide on the tour and I can’t imagine the better setup. We met at 7:45 and took the ferry to the other side of the Mekong River, where we drove 16 km in the near villages. Our first stop was at the local house, thank silk farm and then Pagoda and local school. My guide explained everything along the way, and it was especially interesting to hear about the history and day to day life of local community. Ted provided me with some great insights into Buddhism. Really enjoyed it.
