Full description

This is a 4-hour experience in Phnom Penh, built around National Museum of Cambodia, Central Market Phnom Penh and Wat Phnom. It is run by Euro Khmer Voyages, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Phnom Penh's Royal Palace has been the residence of the Cambodian king since 1866 and is still lived in, so the royal apartments are closed and the Throne Hall is seen from outside. The Silver Pagoda in the same compound takes its name from the five thousand silver tiles of its floor, most now covered to protect them, and holds a Buddha of 90 kilograms of gold set with over two thousand diamonds. The palace enforces a dress code at the gate: shoulders and knees covered for everyone. The National Museum next door has the best Khmer sculpture anywhere, and it closes for lunch.

It does not cover Entrance Fee, Royal Palace, National Museum and Wat Phnom, so budget for those separately. Kosal was a great guide and helped us to see so much of Phnom Penh in haft day! We were able to take our time and he helped us with pictures at each monument. Plenty of cold water throughout the day and Kosal helped us find a delicious place to eat lunch. Thank you for a really good day; full of the beauty and also difficult history of Phnom Penh/Cambodia. We would recommend Kosal to anyone visiting Phnom Penh!
