This is an experience in Phnom Penh. It is run by Phnom Penh Hopon Hopoff Shuttle Bus Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Tuol Sleng was a Phnom Penh secondary school that the Khmer Rouge turned into Security Prison 21 in 1975. Of the roughly 12,000 to 20,000 people held there, a dozen or so survived. The classrooms still have the iron bed frames and the photographs the regime took of every prisoner on arrival. Choeung Ek, about 15 kilometres out, is where most were taken to be killed, and its stupa holds some 5,000 skulls; the audio guide there is narrated in part by a survivor and is the reason most visitors manage it at all. Both are done quietly, take about half a day together, and are not suitable for young children.

It was a very interesting experience for us to find out about what happened in Phnom Penh back in the 70s totally shocked by what happened and feel very sorry for what happened to the Cambodian people
Very sad but a very necessary experience to understand what Cambodia has been through. This experience is only the transportation, you visit the sites by yourself but there is an option to pay at the kiosks to get an online or in person guide if you want.
The guide and company couldn’t do enough for us and had complimentary/included bottles of water provided after every stop, as well as an informative documentary that would play between stops. We were definitely given enough time to see both locations. Ticket prices at both places are not included on the price you pay and the ‘pick-up time’ listed was not the earliest possible pickup time which threw my group off a little bit.

It was an excellent day, very sad, and the lady guide had lost her father and 2 siblings during this time. Very emotional.
For us it wasn’t really a tour per say. We thought we bought a tour but this comes with no tour guide. You get picked up at your hotel and they drive you to the two locations. Both locations you then buy an audio tour or you can just walk around. We did the audio tour which we found very informative. Both places were great to see. The history there was insane and sometimes overwhelming with emotion on what took place. But everyone should go one time to see what happened to so many innocent lives. Overall we enjoyed it but with this one we were expecting more of a tour and not just transportati
An easy way to get to the two major sites of the devastating history of the Khmer Rouge. If I had any complaint it would be that there was not enough time at each site, but that all depends on how long one can handle being it such a sad place. There was enough time to understand what happened and see the places.

Excellent communication about pick up and drop off, lovely guide on the bus who wasn’t there as an official guide but was super helpful. Very interesting video with some of the background played during the ride which was Informative. Highly recommend this trip very somber and harrowing the activity itself but the trip was well organised and comfortable.
A very insightful guide and we were able to meet one of the survivors from the prison after the tour! It was a very emotional experience from beginning to end and I will never forget what I have learned about the horrendous loss of lives during the Pol Pot regime.
tour included pick up at the hotel, drive to S21, drive to the killing fields, drive back to the hotel. tickets itself are not included. the guide organised everything well and during the drive a documentary about the khmer rouge was shown. complimentary bottels of water were handed out as well. would take this company again.
