A half-day trip from Phnom Penh that visits Phnom Penh. The price covers A licensed professional English-speaking tour guide and driv, Cool water and Clean, hygienic, and safe transportation. Tuol Sleng was a Phnom Penh secondary school that the Khmer Rouge turned into Security Prison 21 in 1975. Of the roughly 12,000 to 20,000 people held there, a dozen or so survived. The classrooms still have the iron bed frames and the photographs the regime took of every prisoner on arrival. Choeung Ek, about 15 kilometres out, is where most were taken to be killed, and its stupa holds some 5,000 skulls; the audio guide there is narrated in part by a survivor and is the reason most visitors manage it at all. Both are done quietly, take about half a day together, and are not suitable for young children. Priced per person at about $25 each, so a party of 8 comes to $198. The tour was heartfelt. It seems odd to write amazing when learning about the devastation a nation went through. Our guide Anh knew his stuff! He was patient in answering all our questions and shared the effects this time had on his family who lived during the ordeal. It’s a hard tour to go through but one I think all should experience to understand part of Cambodia’s history.

Mr Ran and the driver, Mr Dara, were amazing. I booked this tour on very late notice, and their service was excellent. The fields and museum themselves are a must-visit in Cambodia, but getting a guide is well worth the little bit extra than just audio. Everything was well explained and as the history is still well within living memory, very personal at times too. Mr Ran was very knowledgeable and happy to answer my questions. Would highly recommend this tour.

The S21 Prison and Killing Fields tour was an extremely interesting and insightful experience.
