Full description

This is a 7-hour experience from Phnom Penh, built around Oudong. It is run by MyProGuide Cambodia, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Phnom Penh sits where the Mekong, the Tonle Sap and the Bassac meet, and the riverfront promenade along Sisowath Quay is where the city walks in the evening. Koh Dach, the silk island, is a short ferry upstream and still has weavers working handlooms under their houses, selling direct. Oudong, 40 kilometres north-west, was the royal capital for more than 250 years until 1866 and its hilltop stupas hold the ashes of kings. The Central Market's art deco dome opened in 1937 and the Russian Market, properly Psar Toul Tom Poung, is the one for silver, silk and knock-offs.

It was very enjoyable and beautiful trip. Hardly any tourist comes to this area. It’s totally a hidden gem and definitely recommended to come here as the guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend this trip to everyone it’s so worth it.

The tour guide contacted me via Whatsapp the day before the tour to give me a pickup time and to describe what he would be wearing so I could find him. The tour went to several locations, each of which was described well by the guide. He has a lot of stories which I enjoyed. The only part I didn't like was the restaurant we stopped at for lunch which had very few options for food.

Très belle excursion. Ce que j ai préféré ": l après-midi dans l immense temple de plusieurs hectares. Expérience ressourcante et spirituelle. Guide très cultivé sur le bouddhisme, la botanique, etc. Après la vie trépidante de Phnom Penh, c est une journée près de la nature et de la spiritualité très ressourcante.

Bleek op dag zelf dat we deels een andere trip kregen dan afgesproken waardoor we de helft van de tempels in oudong niet hebben gezien. Ze weigerden fout toe te geven hoewel de derde persoon in onze groep ook foutieve tour had.
