A 1-hour trip from Phnom Penh that visits Depends on the selected option and Phnom Penh. The price covers Tuk-tuk pick-up/drop off from Phnom Penh hotel, Sightseeing cruise on the Mekong River and Beer or soft drink. It does not cover professional english speaking guide and personal expenses, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price. The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month. Priced per person at about $18 each, so a party of 8 comes to $146. The price you see on this page is the total for the party size you pick, not a per-head figure to multiply. Cambo Tours Services runs it. The cruise was as expected except for the food and drinks. Apart from a complimentary drink when we boarded you had to pay for food and drinks. I felt the advertisement was a bit misleading like “Cold beers and soft drinks are on hand and they keep coming as the city slips slowly into the distance.” No cold beers on hand and they didn’t keep coming or the other line., “Savor the flavors of a BBQ dinner”, no dinner unless you paid extra.
Die Planung war perfekt, die Bedienung an Bord sehr zuvorkommend, hilfsbereit und freundlich. Das Essen war für den Gesamtpreis recht ordentlich. Für Stimmung sorgte Kambodschanische Livemusik. Ein gelingender Abend!
