Full description
This is a 4-hour experience from Phnom Penh, built around Koh Oknha Tei Market, Koh Oknha Tei Secondary School and Silk Island. It is run by Siem Reaper Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Phnom Penh sits where the Mekong, the Tonle Sap and the Bassac meet, and the riverfront promenade along Sisowath Quay is where the city walks in the evening. Koh Dach, the silk island, is a short ferry upstream and still has weavers working handlooms under their houses, selling direct. Oudong, 40 kilometres north-west, was the royal capital for more than 250 years until 1866 and its hilltop stupas hold the ashes of kings. The Central Market's art deco dome opened in 1937 and the Russian Market, properly Psar Toul Tom Poung, is the one for silver, silk and knock-offs.

We had a great tour with our guide Tin Tin. He was fun and informative and very engaging in his presentation of information along the way. The highlights - market, silk farm and tofu skin farm - were genuine and didn’t feel like a tourist trap at all. Our driver was safe and considerate. All in all, highly recommend Tin Tin and this tour for an excellent overview of the more rural side Phnom Penh!
We visited a lot of places on this tour. Our guide Lee was very knowledgeable and happy to answer all our questions! I would recommend this to everyone interested in seeing the rural Cambodia and the local life.
I had a really good time. My guide Tin Tin was really informative and fun to listen to. I was in a group with two others which made the experience very relaxed. We got to see the local markets with no other tourists. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely fantastic tour. Our guide Sok was extremely friendly and helpful to us! - pickup from hotel in TukTuk - drive to meet-up point with other guests - ferry to Silk Island - visit plantations and quick stop for refreshment - visit Tofu factory - 2nd ferry to traditional silk making - sunset with snacks - TukTuk drive back to hotel. Highly recommend this tour! We had a lovely time :)
