This is a 4-hour experience from Phnom Penh, built around Tuk tuk. It is run by Siem Reap er Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Phnom Penh sits where the Mekong, the Tonle Sap and the Bassac meet, and the riverfront promenade along Sisowath Quay is where the city walks in the evening. Koh Dach, the silk island, is a short ferry upstream and still has weavers working handlooms under their houses, selling direct. Oudong, 40 kilometres north-west, was the royal capital for more than 250 years until 1866 and its hilltop stupas hold the ashes of kings. The Central Market's art deco dome opened in 1937 and the Russian Market, properly Psar Toul Tom Poung, is the one for silver, silk and knock-offs.

The locals are so lovely, it’s amazing to see how much work goes into producing silk and make products out of it. Sopheak gave us so much history about the island and Cambodia in general, giving us a chance to full immerse into the culture and interact with locals.
