A 2-day trip from Siem Reap that visits Angkor Wat Temple, Banteay Kdei Temple, Ta Promh Temple and Ta Nei Temple. There are 23 stops altogether, so it fills the day rather than leaving long gaps between two or three highlights. The price covers Hotel pickup and drop-off, Private air-conditioned transportation and Guide. It does not cover temple pass and food (available for purchase), so budget for those separately. Angkor Wat was built in the first half of the 12th century by Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple to Vishnu, later turned to Buddhist use, and it is the largest religious monument on earth at roughly 162 hectares inside its moat. Unlike almost every other Khmer temple it faces west. The outer gallery carries about 600 metres of bas-relief, including the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, and the central towers represent Mount Meru. The upper level has a dress code that is actually enforced: shoulders and knees covered, no vests, or you are turned back at the stairs. An Angkor Pass is required and costs USD 37 for one day, 62 for three and 72 for seven, sold only through Angkor Enterprise; under-12s are free on a passport. We had an amazing two-day tour with the „dream team“ Chhay and his driver. Chhay will take you to the wonders of Anghkor, avoiding the main streams and masses. With his humble driver you will never have to walk the same ways back to the parking lot. Enter the temple to the east and exit to the west and cool towels and water will wait for you at the car.
