A full-day trip from Siem Reap that visits Krong Battambang. The price covers Hotel pick up and drop off and Tuk Tuk Driver Guide. It does not cover all entrance fee and tickets and self expenses, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price. Battambang is Cambodia's second city and the calmest of them, a riverside town of French shophouses about three hours from Siem Reap. The bamboo train, the norry, is a bamboo platform on wheels driven by a small motor down a single track; when two meet, the lighter one is lifted off the rails by hand. The original line at O Dambong was replaced by a purpose-built tourist track at Banan. At dusk, millions of wrinkle-lipped bats stream out of a cliff cave at Phnom Sampeau for about half an hour in an unbroken ribbon, and the same hill carries a killing-cave memorial from the Khmer Rouge years. Priced per person at about $33 each, so a party of 7 comes to $228. The price you see on this page is the total for the party size you pick, not a per-head figure to multiply. We had a great half day tour in Battambang and really enjoyed the whole experience. Everything was very well organized and structured, but at the same time flexible and relaxed. We were picked up by tuk-tuk and first learned about the history of the city. Then we drove through local villages, learned about fruits and vegetation, crossed a hanging bridge, enjoyed the bamboo train and even tried local specialties. Visiting the caves and watching the bats fly out was definitely a highlight. Our guide was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. We can absolutely recommend this tour to anyo

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon trip with Vatthana, he is a really safe driver and very knowledgable about the local area. The ride on the bamboo train was a bit of a tourist trap at the end of the line with people pushing to sell souvenirs but it was an enjoyable experience nonetheless. Watching the bats leave the cave at dusk was a real highlight for me and a perfect end to the day.

Vatthana was a fantastic and very knowledgeable tour guide - we had a brilliant afternoon with him discovering Battambang and getting to see the many bars leaving the cave. If you’re looking to do a tour with anybody then I would highly recommend him!
