A 1-day trip from Siem Reap that visits Krong Siem Reap, Transfer, Angkor Wat and Tonle Om Gate (Southern Gate). There are 8 stops altogether, so it fills the day rather than leaving long gaps between two or three highlights. The price covers Private Transport by Tuk Tuk, Private Driver with license and Private tour. It does not cover lunch and entrance fees, so budget for those separately. Angkor Wat was built in the first half of the 12th century by Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple to Vishnu, later turned to Buddhist use, and it is the largest religious monument on earth at roughly 162 hectares inside its moat. Unlike almost every other Khmer temple it faces west. The outer gallery carries about 600 metres of bas-relief, including the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, and the central towers represent Mount Meru. The upper level has a dress code that is actually enforced: shoulders and knees covered, no vests, or you are turned back at the stairs. An Angkor Pass is required and costs USD 37 for one day, 62 for three and 72 for seven, sold only through Angkor Enterprise; under-12s are free on a passport. The price steps with party size rather than multiplying: 1 traveller is $33, 5 is $65 and 8 is $65. You are quoted the total for your party, not a per-head rate. The trip to and around Angkor Temples was as interesting for us as were the temples themselves. This was thanks to our Tuk Tuk driver Sokha Cam who is a friendly and informative guide to the area. He was also very thoughtful to us as we are a slightly older couple and he was attentive to ensuring we were comfortable. We were taken to three of the major temples and a fantastic restaurant. This gave us a great overview of the area. Sokha Cam the recommended an evening show and dinner which we greatly enjoyed. Thanks Sokha Cam for a memorable day.

Sempre atento às nossas necessidades, muitas vezes sem as verbalizarmos. Estavamos receosoa se fazer o tour de tuk tuk era a melhor opção, devido ao calor. Revelou se uma surpresa. Super confortável (muito mais do que numa Van), personalizado (eramos apenas dois e faziamos as paragens que queriamos, no tempo que achavamos conveniente).
Was perfect for us. We had tour with group earlier, but wanted to see some “lesser” temples and to fill in pictures where we thought we did not get enough time. Our guide took us exactly where we wanted to go, in an order that saved us time. We stayed shorter at some sites and longer atop others, each time he helped us figure out the timing, and he was right there at the exit when we were done. We used the service about half a day, I think they expect travelers to use the service most of a day. Please tip generously. The fee for his service was $25 and we also tipped $25.
