Full description
This is an 8-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon and Baphuon. It is run by Camboya Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Angkor Wat was built in the first half of the 12th century by Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple to Vishnu, later turned to Buddhist use, and it is the largest religious monument on earth at roughly 162 hectares inside its moat. Unlike almost every other Khmer temple it faces west. The outer gallery carries about 600 metres of bas-relief, including the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, and the central towers represent Mount Meru. The upper level has a dress code that is actually enforced: shoulders and knees covered, no vests, or you are turned back at the stairs. An Angkor Pass is required and costs USD 37 for one day, 62 for three and 72 for seven, sold only through Angkor Enterprise; under-12s are free on a passport.

La ruta es increíble. El primer día estuvimos solos con el guía Rhad y el segundo día con otra familia y el guía Antonio. Tienen mucha paciencia y esperan que veamos el lugar todo el tiempo que consideremos. Y los templos son impresionantes. Prácticamente en cada parada te dan agua y toallas para refrescarte (es muy necesario). Lo peor son los sitios para comer, sobre todo el del primer día, que comparado con otros lugares en los que hemos comido, la comida es mediocre, pero no te dan a elegir sino que te llevan de cosa hecha.
