A 1-day trip from Siem Reap that visits 9V65+XHF, Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm Temple, Angkor Wat and Takeo Khmer Food. There are 11 stops altogether, so it fills the day rather than leaving long gaps between two or three highlights. The price covers French-speaking live guide for the entire day, Bike rental for the forest ride and Cold water during the day. It does not cover admission to angkor wat and the other te, meals and drinks throughout the day and gratuities for guide or driver, so budget for those separately. Angkor Wat was built in the first half of the 12th century by Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple to Vishnu, later turned to Buddhist use, and it is the largest religious monument on earth at roughly 162 hectares inside its moat. Unlike almost every other Khmer temple it faces west. The outer gallery carries about 600 metres of bas-relief, including the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, and the central towers represent Mount Meru. The upper level has a dress code that is actually enforced: shoulders and knees covered, no vests, or you are turned back at the stairs. An Angkor Pass is required and costs USD 37 for one day, 62 for three and 72 for seven, sold only through Angkor Enterprise; under-12s are free on a passport. The price steps with party size rather than multiplying: 1 traveller is $254, 5 is $377 and 8 is $507. You are quoted the total for your party, not a per-head rate. Camboya Travel runs it.
