Angkor Wat was built in the first half of the 12th century by Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple to Vishnu, later turned to Buddhist use, and it is the largest religious monument on earth at roughly 162 hectares inside its moat. An Angkor Pass is required and costs USD 37 for one day, 62 for three and 72 for seven, sold only through Angkor Enterprise; under-12s are free on a passport.
