Full description
This is an 8-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm Temple and Bayon Temple. It is run by Journey Cambodia, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Angkor Wat was built in the first half of the 12th century by Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple to Vishnu, later turned to Buddhist use, and it is the largest religious monument on earth at roughly 162 hectares inside its moat. Unlike almost every other Khmer temple it faces west. The outer gallery carries about 600 metres of bas-relief, including the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, and the central towers represent Mount Meru. The upper level has a dress code that is actually enforced: shoulders and knees covered, no vests, or you are turned back at the stairs. An Angkor Pass is required and costs USD 37 for one day, 62 for three and 72 for seven, sold only through Angkor Enterprise; under-12s are free on a passport.

This tour was an incredible experience! A great way to see some of the amazing temples in Cambodia. Sadly it was too cloudy for us to see the sunrise, but the rest of the tour absolutely made up for it. The tour guide Mr Pal was incredible, he has so much knowledge to share! I travelled alone and he made sure to snap some pictures for me, which was very appreciated. The driver Ha was very kind and courteous also. A wonderful experience!

Our guide Sak was extremely knowledgeable and made sure that we arrived early so that we had an excellent position to view the sunrise. Sak took us to see 3 temples and he was able to tell us about the history, architecture and culture of each one. The trip was paced well and we were well supplied with cold water and even cold flannels to help with the intense heat. Being collected and returned direct to our hotel was great. I would really recommend this trip it was an experience of a lifetime.

Mr. Pal was a very thoughtful guide that is passionate to share Cambodian history and culture! We went as a couple on our honeymoon and he took the time to take fun photos shots. The tour was organized and on time, on hot dry season day in late March they had cold waters and the van was comfortable and air conditioned. The tour was paced to show us a lot of the highlights in Angkor Wat and surrounding temples but also allowed us rest stops and breaks to explore. This was a perfect tour for us!
This was a very beautiful tour! We were a group of 12 people. To watch the sunrise, we arrived at 5:00 AM to Angkor Wat and our guide Bun showed us the best spots so we could take wonderful photos. He explained a lot about the history of the temples as well as the religious background, pointed out many details, and organized everything perfectly in terms of timing. He also took great photos for us.Our driver Mao provided us with water and refreshing towels and made sure that the bus was always parked right next to the exits and well cooled down – which was priceless on such a hot day. Fantastic trip out - got the best spot for sunrise over Angkor Wat and visited a further 2 temples with excellent guidance from Bun. He gave interesting, informative and open guidance on the sites visited and made sure we were looked after at all times. We were not rushed and given opportunity to explore certain areas for longer. Vireak our driver (apologies if name wrong) was also fantastic making sure we had plenty of water and fearful smelling cold hand towels each time we came back from a site to the transport.
Great half day with an experienced guide and very good driver. A relatively small group and we all had fun! Learned a lot too. And our guide Mr Hang was very good with iPhone pictures!
