Full description
This is an 8-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Bus/coach, Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm Temple. It is run by Angkor Wat Travel Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Angkor Wat was built in the first half of the 12th century by Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple to Vishnu, later turned to Buddhist use, and it is the largest religious monument on earth at roughly 162 hectares inside its moat. Unlike almost every other Khmer temple it faces west. The outer gallery carries about 600 metres of bas-relief, including the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, and the central towers represent Mount Meru. The upper level has a dress code that is actually enforced: shoulders and knees covered, no vests, or you are turned back at the stairs. An Angkor Pass is required and costs USD 37 for one day, 62 for three and 72 for seven, sold only through Angkor Enterprise; under-12s are free on a passport.

Mr T was amazing! The perfect balance of information but also allowing us to explore ourselves. I came away understanding more about Angkor but not feeling too overwhelmed with information especially so early in the morning! He was also very funny and we really appreciate the umbrellas!
The early start was definitely worth it. Our guide, Indiana Jones, knew exactly the best spot to view the sunrise and then continued with a great tour, finding shady spots to explain the area and history before allowing free time to explore on our own. Each time we returned to The bus, our driver Michael was there with cold water and cold towels, these were extremely well received. This was a great tour at the perfect pace, made event better as we had a brilliant group, 9 of us, a fab guide and driver.
We took the sunrise tour and had an absolutely brilliant time exploring Angkor Wat with Chong! His insight into the history, culture and people of Cambodia was fantastic. We learnt so much from him for which we are grateful. He made us feel very comfortable, helped the group to bond (Chong Family!) and is a brilliant photographer, couldn’t recommend enough!

It was fabulous. Indiana Jones was the most entertaining and informative guide. He made our Angkor Wat experience so memorable. James Bond our driver was always waiting with cold water and wipes when we got back to the bus. I really recommend this tour to everyone. The 6 of us loved it.

I had such an amazing day seeing the most stunning temples in Siem Reap and learning all about Cambodian culture and history ! Our guide David was FANTASTIC and I can honestly say he’s one of the BEST guides I’ve ever had on a tour - super knowledgeable, knew all the history on every block in every temple, spoke perfect English, so kind and caring, always really upbeat and positive, but also super funny and personable (not to mention all of his great and captivating stories from his life and growing up in Cambodia). I learnt so so much and would highly recommend this tour and David especially
Rith is a superb guide with good knowledge and command over English that is generally a problem in the area. The bus was in very good condition and driver was also driving safely with general courtesy overall. Recommend this tour - operator and guide for any similar tours in Siam Reap.
Mr T was an absolutely amazing guide! I could not recommend him more as a tour guide for Angkor Wat. He was fantastic the entire day and gave so much detail and information about all the temples. Can't control the weather, however our guide Mr T and driver Tim still managed to ensure we had an excellent experience, learning about the history (old and new) and archeology of the visited temples. Very friendly and fun day out while getting to meet new people, very good value for money. Would highly recommend this tour, so you can understand and appreciate each site. If you end up getting Mr T as your guide for the day, you're going to have a good time.
It was amazing! My host Sen was super nice and explained all the temples so well and spoke very good English! Highly recommend this for everyone, especially families! Sen is the best guide for the sunrise tour and he helped us with pick up and drop off as well.
