Full description
This is a 60-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Pre Rup Temple, Banteay Srei Temple and Neak Pean Temple. It is run by Journey Cambodia, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Angkor Wat was built in the first half of the 12th century by Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple to Vishnu, later turned to Buddhist use, and it is the largest religious monument on earth at roughly 162 hectares inside its moat. Unlike almost every other Khmer temple it faces west. The outer gallery carries about 600 metres of bas-relief, including the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, and the central towers represent Mount Meru. The upper level has a dress code that is actually enforced: shoulders and knees covered, no vests, or you are turned back at the stairs. An Angkor Pass is required and costs USD 37 for one day, 62 for three and 72 for seven, sold only through Angkor Enterprise; under-12s are free on a passport.

We started our journey on the first day with a visit to Tonle Sap Lake, guided by AJ. He took us through the floating village, explaining lifestyle of the residents. We took a 2.5 days tour with Journey Cambodia as our guide to Angkor Wat and Tonle Sap floating village community. It was absolutely amazing, and - thanks to the low season - almost a private tour. We could visit both the most popular temples and buildings of Angkor, and some less popular but interesting ones. Wir haben eine 2,5 Tagestour zum Angkor Wat und den Floating Villages gemacht und es hat rundum alles gestimmt. Wir wurden jeden Morgen von einem klimatischen Bus abgeholt, der uns auch zu den verschiedenen Stopps gebracht und abgeholt hat. Der Guide Pireak war sehr freundlich und hat uns umfassend und interessant über alles informiert. Der Fahrer Keal hat uns immer, wenn wir nach einem Stopp zurück zum Bus kamen mit nassen Handtüchern und kühlem Wasser empfangen. Alles in allem ist die Tour sehr empfehlenswert!
