Angkor Wat was built in the first half of the 12th century by Suryavarman II as a Hindu temple to Vishnu, later turned to Buddhist use, and it is the largest religious monument on earth at roughly 162 hectares inside its moat. Unlike almost every other Khmer temple it faces west. The outer gallery carries about 600 metres of bas-relief, including the Churning of the Ocean of Milk, and the central towers represent Mount Meru. The upper level has a dress code that is actually enforced: shoulders and knees covered, no vests, or you are turned back at the stairs. An Angkor Pass is required and costs USD 37 for one day, 62 for three and 72 for seven, sold only through Angkor Enterprise; under-12s are free on a passport. The price steps with party size rather than multiplying: 1 traveller is $111, 5 is $293 and 8 is $364. You are quoted the total for your party, not a per-head rate. Journey Cambodia runs it. Communication from the company was good before the event and pick up went as planned. Poleak was our guide. Poleak spoke very good English and was very friendly and knowledgable. The Temples visited were beautiful and well worth a visit. The walking was quite extensive estimated around 9 miles in total. Overall a great day trip. I would recommend.
Bob was a really great guide! Super recommended. We did not go to the village near angkor wat because it was very dirty, very narrow and people near there where doing weird stuff. Would like for the guides to take more pictures with the Angkor Wat main temple.

Our guide Bun was very knowledgable and timing of the tour was spot on. The lunch was also delicious at a local restaurant. We did skip the village as the rain was pouring and it was very muddy but Bun arranged that we could return to the tuk tuk asap at start pojnt of the village walk.
Wycieczka zaczęła się pod naszym hotelem . Przewodnik na nas czekał, spędziliśmy razem około 9-10 godzin zwiedzając wszystkie opisane zabytki. Przewodnik był otwarty na nasze prośby i sugestie, po drodze zjedliśmy bardzo dobry posiłek. Zabezpieczona była nawet zimna woda w tuk tuk-u - słowem opieka na profesjonalnym poziomie. Polecam wszystkim !!!!! Niezapomniane przeżycie w bardzo dobrym towarzystwie!!!!
