Full description
This is a 2-hour experience in Siem Reap. It is run by Restaurant Collection, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Apsara dance takes its name and its poses from the celestial dancers carved in their thousands on the Angkor walls, and the classical form was rebuilt after the Khmer Rouge years from the handful of teachers who survived. The hand positions are a fixed vocabulary, each one a meaning, and a trained dancer's fingers bend back further than looks possible because the training starts in childhood. Most Siem Reap shows come with a buffet; the serious performances are shorter and ticketed on their own. Phare, the Cambodian circus, is a different thing altogether, a school in Battambang that takes children from hard backgrounds and stages modern acrobatic theatre about Cambodian life.

Amazing show!!! 5 course meal was delicious and the chef came round after to personally ask how the food was which I thought was a lovely touch. You get a chance at the end to take a picture with the dancers. Everyone was so helpful and smiley. Highly recommend

Traveling with our two teens (17 and 13), the Kanell Dinner Show in Siem Reap was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment we stepped into the lush garden, beautifully decorated for the night, we were captivated. Our 7-course dinner, expertly crafted by the chef, was delicious and beautifully presented. We were mesmerized by seven stunning performances - from the graceful Apsara dance to the powerful Bokator demonstrations - even our 13-year-old was fully engaged. This really was an incredible experience. The welcome and escort to our table was wonderful. The 7 course dinner was fantastic with the courses arranged to coincide with the dances and performances. We chose the wine pairing add-on which I would recommend. The dancing and staging and martial arts displays were brilliant with the ‘naughty monkeys’ appearing throughout the audience. It was great to see the performers interact with the crowd, very funny indeed. A wonderfully welcoming experience highly recommended.

Peut-on réellement parler de danse !? Des mouvements hyper lents sur une musique agaçante … Encore bien qu’il y avait un peu de mouvement avec la démonstration d’arts martiaux. Pour le reste, le dîner non plus n’était vraiment pas exceptionnel… cela ne vaut vraiment pas la peine. Une soirée gâchée !
