Full description
This is a 2-hour experience in Siem Reap, built around Tuk tuk and Siem Reap Province. It is run by Cambo Tours Services, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Apsara dance takes its name and its poses from the celestial dancers carved in their thousands on the Angkor walls, and the classical form was rebuilt after the Khmer Rouge years from the handful of teachers who survived. The hand positions are a fixed vocabulary, each one a meaning, and a trained dancer's fingers bend back further than looks possible because the training starts in childhood. Most Siem Reap shows come with a buffet; the serious performances are shorter and ticketed on their own. Phare, the Cambodian circus, is a different thing altogether, a school in Battambang that takes children from hard backgrounds and stages modern acrobatic theatre about Cambodian life.

I had a wonderful evening ! The buffet was delicious with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive throughout the evening. We really enjoyed this show and chosing the pick up was the best idea. Our driver was very prompt, made sure we knew where to meet him afterwards and was very efficient. The buffet style meal was excellent with lots of food in both Cambodian and Western styles. The show was lovely, the costumes were so detailed and rich and having the leaflet explain the dances and the hand movements was fantastic. We really enjoyed this activity.
The buffet before the show was amazing. There is a huge variety of khmer food, western food, barbecue and sweet deserts. The dancing show was also very interesting and funny to see. Also very helpful is a small sheet that gives an explanation of every single dance.
A lovely show, the dancers were amazing and the food was really nice and plenty of it. Loved the costumes and a handy little leaflet on the table explaining what each dance represented and even what the hand movements meant. A great evening out.

We had a lovely evening. The food buffet has exceeded our expectations as there were so many options and what was important to me a lot of vegetarian options that were clearly marked in the separate section. It was a great opportunity to try different cambodian food, but there were western options available as well. I terms of the performance - the dancers were phenomenal and we really enjoyed it. The only thing we'd like to add is maybe a small description of each dance - to have more understanding of significance and importance of certain figures, themes etc. Other than that we had a great t
