Full description
This is a 10-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Preah Dak, Banteay Srei and Poeng Ta Kho (Amazing Cliff). It is run by ASEAN ANGKOR GUIDE, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Banteay Srei lies 37 kilometres north-east of the main Angkor group and is carved in a pink sandstone that holds detail no other Khmer temple keeps: the lintels and pediments are cut deep enough to throw real shadow, which is why it is called the citadel of women. It is small, it was consecrated in 967 to Shiva, and it was built by a brahmin rather than a king. Because it is out on its own it is usually paired with Kbal Spean, the river of a thousand lingas, where Shiva carvings lie in and under the stream bed and the walk up is about 1.5 kilometres of forest path. Both close earlier than the central temples, so they are morning stops.

I had a great day with my guide Makara! He was very knowledgeable and gave me a through education on the history and pointed out all of the details in the carvings - things I would have missed on my own! He would even draw diagrams in the sand to explain. He also was good photographer and knew all the best spots and told me how to pose 😂. I especially enjoyed Banteay Srei, one of my favorite temples I have visited! The picnic lunch was excellent as well. Our guide Sam and driver Sophal were excellent. Banteay Srei and Beng Mealea were my favourite temples in all of Siem Reap, I would definitely recommend going to see them. Sam was fun and informative, and Sophal was waiting after every stop with cold towels and cold water - very necessary in the heat. Thank you to both!

it was the best tour that I did in Siem Reap, it has a good balance between temples and nature. Banteay Srei and Kulen mountain are beauties that cannot be skipped. Our guide Dara was great and very knowledgeable, he walked with us in the temples explaining everything and he was very kind with us. Also the food and the location of our lunch was perfect, we were on the river, below the big waterfall. everything was perfect!

Super knowledgeable about the temples we saw, made sure we had a comfortable time while also getting to see as much of Kulen Mountain as possible.
