A half-day experience in Siem Reap. The operator sums it up as admire banteay srei\u2019s stunning carvings and pink sandstone construction. The price covers Drinking water. Banteay Srei lies 37 kilometres north-east of the main Angkor group and is carved in a pink sandstone that holds detail no other Khmer temple keeps: the lintels and pediments are cut deep enough to throw real shadow, which is why it is called the citadel of women. It is small, it was consecrated in 967 to Shiva, and it was built by a brahmin rather than a king. Because it is out on its own it is usually paired with Kbal Spean, the river of a thousand lingas, where Shiva carvings lie in and under the stream bed and the walk up is about 1.5 kilometres of forest path. Both close earlier than the central temples, so they are morning stops. The price steps with party size rather than multiplying: 2 travellers is $70, 4 is $78 and 8 is $156. You are quoted the total for your party, not a per-head rate. Golden Escape Cambodia runs it. We book with them directly, so the guide who meets you works for the operator rather than for a reseller.

We booked this tour to accommodate these two destinations that were not part of the other Angkor tours. And given the limit on the 3 day pass, we had to book this for 2pm. Danny reached before time as we had coordinated to leave sooner if we could and managed to start at 1:30. The entry to Kbal Spean stops around 3pm so better to plan this earlier if possible. It’s a 1.5 hour ride from city. Then a 1km hike through the woods at Kbal Spean - so plan accordingly. We managed to reach Kbal Spean by 2:50 and got back by 4:15 - did manage to see all the carvings (thanks to the very helping Mal at th

Good value trip to spots just a little further afield. Some of the finest temple carvings to be seen. Landmine museum provides valuable insight to the brutal Khmer Rouge past, ongoing demining efforts, and global UXO issue. Very friendly driver, provides cold water.
Three good destinations, and very nice to go in tuktuk and really see the landscape on the way. We went with Mr Tonh Tonh who was great, a very kind and calm driver and open to suggestions about the order or other attractions in the way. The kbal spean is mostly interesting for the hike, the thousand lingas were quite small, but still interesting to see the 700 year old carvings. Banteay Srei was beautiful and interesting to see the landmine museum and meet the founder who demined so many mines throughout Cambodia
Great driving by Danith good communication allowed us to tweak the trip to call at a temple we passed on the way out would recommend again wholeheartedly. Best way to get about is by tuk tuk with a lovely breeze for an hr or so each way. Don’t miss the Landmine museum it has a lot to tell.
The tuk-tuk driver was well-dressed and drove safely. However, he basically just took us to the local area and there was no particular guide, so I highly recommend it for people who have some prior knowledge or who have thoroughly read a guidebook beforehand. If you tell the driver any additional places you want to go, he will take you as many as he can. Of course, there is a fee, but I think it is quite reasonable as I was charged the equivalent of the fare per distance of the tuk-tuk. An amazing day. The forest hike was absolutely beautiful - with amazing wildlife and surrounded by butterflies. The temple is better than Ankor Wat in my view, as there is an extremely clear exhibition describing how it was restored making it feel authentic - at other temples you just have to imagine. Landmine museum fascinating. Brilliant value, would recommend to anyone - just note you need proper footwear, and a reasonable degree of fitness for the hike.

It's a nice way to go around to these places. I didn't had a tourguide, so it was mostly like renting a tuk tuk for the day. The driver was nice and always had a bittle of water available for me.
A good way to see these interesting locations which are otheriwse hard to access. All were definitely worth seeing. Bear in mind this is NOT a guided tour, transport only, however the transport was comfortable and the driver was punctual. Unfortunately there was no drinking water in our tuktuk, even though this is stated in the description.
