A full-day trip from Siem Reap that visits Krong Battambang. The price covers Hotel pickup and drop-off, Transportation by tuk-tuk and Driver/guide. It does not cover bamboo train fee ($5 per person), food and additional drinks and tips, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price. Battambang is Cambodia's second city and the calmest of them, a riverside town of French shophouses about three hours from Siem Reap. The bamboo train, the norry, is a bamboo platform on wheels driven by a small motor down a single track; when two meet, the lighter one is lifted off the rails by hand. The original line at O Dambong was replaced by a purpose-built tourist track at Banan. At dusk, millions of wrinkle-lipped bats stream out of a cliff cave at Phnom Sampeau for about half an hour in an unbroken ribbon, and the same hill carries a killing-cave memorial from the Khmer Rouge years. Priced per person at about $17 each, so a party of 8 comes to $136. The price you see on this page is the total for the party size you pick, not a per-head figure to multiply. Angkor Day Trip runs it. We book with them directly, so the guide who meets you works for the operator rather than for a reseller.

Kim was phenomenal! He was a joy to be around and a very accommodating host. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Cambodia. We loved every minute of this tour! I am very happy with this tour. Kim picked me up on time from my accommodation in a tuk-tuk. Right at the beginning, he gave us a introduction to Battambang, its history, and how the town got its name. One of our first stops was the Bamboo Train, which was really fun! Throughout the trip, Kim spontaneously stopped whenever there was something interesting to see. He showed us local fruits growing along the roadside, stopped at a traditional stone carver's place to show us their craft, and even bought us peanuts at a local market. At the Killing Caves, Kim provided deep insights into the history
Kim was very helpful, cheerfully and knowledgeable. Thru him we got a better understanding of the political landscape thru his family history in a perfect English. Very interesting! Also he knew a great spot for the Batcave with an incredible view. Can only recommend him, truly a gem.

David’s tour was the highlight of our trip to Cambodia, we enjoyed it so much that we made plans to meet him a second time while staying in Battambang. I could not recommend his tour enough, not only will he bring you to the main attractions and historical sights, he will give a cultural context through his storytelling and history that cannot be obtained from a book or the internet. His tour is personal and full of heart, he really means what he says and truly wants to share his culture with others!
I could not recommend this tour enough, David was brilliant and did more than listed on the booking. Like taking us to try local food, showing us the markets and giving us extensive history throughout (all without any extra charge or the expectation that we was going to have to pay more at the end). This was by far one of the best tours we have done since traveling south east Asia!
