Battambang: Cooking Class and Market Touring in Siem Reap

Hi and his family were incredible hosts! Was such great being able to hear more about local life and hear about so many different parts of it. Seeing the market from a more local perspective and being able to try some of the local food while making it yourself was incredible. Hi even made sure to tell us how we would adjust things if we needed to if we wanted to make them back home with what ingredients our supermarket would have to offer. Very informative and kind. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a small, local, and meaningful experience in town.

I, without a doubt, recommend experiencing this cooking class. Not only do you get to walk through the market with a local (and ask all of the questions I’m sure we all want to ask when walking by the endless products), but you get to understand the Cambodian culture through such a unique way. I always say the best way to get to know a country is through its food and since we got to make Cambodia’s “national dish” of fish amok (steamed like in the traditional way instead of fried like they do in restaurants), I can say that I am one step closer to that understanding. Our guide was very informative and attentive to our needs. We were taken through central market - interesting place. We went to the Railway and stood on the lines. We saw the post office and walked back on the now closed to traffic riverside full of people enjoying the weekend. Would recommend if you want to see a bit of Phnom Penh off the beaten track and rack up your walking steps.

Vichet was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide who took us on a tour that was far more wide-ranging than we expected, covering around 7km. In addition to several landmark sites, we also saw many fascinating places that showed off the reality of living in in Phnom Penh. What we didn't expect was so many food samples including sticky rice deserts, sugar cane water and nom banh chok. We were very tired having only arrived in Cambodia that afternoon from the UK, but thoroughly enjoyed our hidden gems tour with Vichet. Thank you!

We had a brilliant evening tour with Martin, whose historical knowledge and skilled delivery of this made for a very interesting tour around the streets of Phnom Penh. We stopped regularly and engaged with locals and ate food and generally had a very fun evening seeing some amazing sights. We even saw the monk king at the monestary! Wow! We thoroughly enjoyed the 4 hours and felt this tour filled in many gaps for us. Thanks Martin 😀

We really enjoyed the hidden gems walking tour. Our guide was a walking Cambodian Wiki. We had this tour on the end of our +2 week traveling around in Cambodia, we've met different guides, but with this final tour and guide a lot of the Cambodians puzzle pieces fell into place.

Fantastic tour with Martine around the city sights! We also went to the places where the locals went and we were treated to some tasty street food and a glass of the local alcohol (or two!). Would recommend to all!
