This is a 10-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Battambang, Preah Noray Roundaboutរង្វង់មូលព្រះនរាយ and Lok Ta Dambong Kra Nhoung Shrine. Battambang is Cambodia's second city and the calmest of them, a riverside town of French shophouses about three hours from Siem Reap. The bamboo train, the norry, is a bamboo platform on wheels driven by a small motor down a single track; when two meet, the lighter one is lifted off the rails by hand. The original line at O Dambong was replaced by a purpose-built tourist track at Banan. At dusk, millions of wrinkle-lipped bats stream out of a cliff cave at Phnom Sampeau for about half an hour in an unbroken ribbon, and the same hill carries a killing-cave memorial from the Khmer Rouge years.

Fantastic day with Sok on the bamboo train, via the Killing caves and onto the Bat cave at the end of the day. We chose to walk up to the killing caves and he was patient with us, very knowledgeable and interesting. Quite a hike up to the temples and to the top of the killing caves but well worth it. Loved the bamboo train. Transportation was cool and loads of cool water provided throughout the day.
