A 2-hour trip from Siem Reap that visits Krong Siem Reap, View point, Monastery and Phnom Krom. There are 5 stops altogether, so it fills the day rather than leaving long gaps between two or three highlights. The price covers English-speaking driver, Round trip by Tuk-Tuk and Hotel pick-up and drop-off. It does not cover floating village boat tickets, personal expenses and tipping, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price. The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month. The price steps with party size rather than multiplying: 2 travellers is $26, 4 is $32 and 6 is $39. You are quoted the total for your party, not a per-head rate. Camboya Travel runs it. We didn't stop at the monastery. When I asked why it was already too late. And he said it was too hot to climb. That's something that I wish I had known because at that point I could've just hired a private taxi. But the boat ride was beautiful. The sunset was amazing. We stopped at a little house boat with a viewing platform where they also sold items and had a crocodile farm right on the boat. This was during dry season.
