Elephant Sanctuary Guided Tour in Siem Reap

A hidden gem in Cambodia. It took a bit of logistical juggling with our tour groups activities but it was well worth it. The sanctuary is understandably a bit away from town (about a one hour drive) but the roads are good and the views are ever changing. Highly recommend. Really where else can you wash an elephant, in the wild, in a stream? Perfect for us and we feel as though we helped, in a small way, making their lives a bit better.

A great experience. It was so peaceful being around the elephants, I could have stayed all day. The guide gives clear instructions at the start with water and fruit provided. You get to feed the elephants then follow them as they decide whether to have a mud bath or go in to the river. Thank you for a fun afternoon.

It was an amazing experience. Dinar (and his crew) was very nice and kind. He gave me a lot of informations about the story of the sanctuary and the story of the éléphants. I prepared the food and gave to them, and I was in the river to help them wash ! It was fantastic and magic !! Thanks a lot for this precious moment 🙏🙏.

It was an amazing experience! My group and I loved our time visiting the elephant sanctuary! The people are very kind and knowledgeable. it was a memorable experience! Highly recommend!

We had a great time at the sanctuary. You can see the staff care a lot and have strong bonds with the elephants. It was a valuable experience to see the elephants happy in the sanctuary environment, having been rescued from private ownership. Would recommend if you have time if you have half a day.

Fantastic experience. Quiet and pleasant atmosphere throughout, introduction set the good background to the sanctuary and how to behave around them. It felt cozy and safe, and to be able to be around those magnificent animals felt great. Highly recommended for all ages

BRING SWIMWEAR!! Getting up close to feed and wash the elephants was incredible. The guide was very informative and ensured everyone interacted with the elephants in a safe way. We were a group of 8 people so we had plenty of time with the 3 elephants they had there. The actual sanctuary itself was brilliant but the transport and information in advance could have been better. The time they sent us via WhatsApp was incorrect and the driver arrived 45 minutes before the time we went sent (although was the right time according to the GYG app). This was the highlight of my holiday in Cambodia! Three wonderful elephants living freely in a sanctuary run by a very caring and dedicated team. You get to feed the elephants, give them a mud bath and wash them in the river (you get wet and muddy so bring a change of clothes!). Your payment for this activity helps fund the animals' feed (they eat 300 kg of food each every day!) and the workers who care for them. Worth every penny :)

This was the absolute highlight of our trip to Siem Reap! Being able to naturally interact with the elephants was so amazing - what a bucket list experience! If you are thinking of doing this just book now - you won’t be disappointed!

Entire activity was quite good No complaints whatsoever I highly recommend it. The elephants were fantastic so was the guy and Anne at the sanctuary was great. Very knowledgeable about elephants I wanted to take one home with me! 👍👍
