This is an 8-hour experience in Siem Reap, built around Jeep / SUV, Ro Lus Market and Siem Reap. It is run by About Cambodia Travel and Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month.

Excursion extrêmement chère. Nous n’avons pas réellement visiter le village mais y sommes passés en voiture. Le seul point positif est le passage dans la mangrove : très typique du pays. Cette excursion se fait à des tarifs réduits qu’il est préférable de choisir. Sinon le guide et le chauffeur sont très sympathiques à l’écoute des voyageurs. Merci Nao.
Alles war perfekt, unser Führer Leap war exzellent und die Bootsfahrt durch die Mangrovenwälder fantastisch. Besuch eines lokalen Markts war ein weiterer Höhepunkt für uns.
Mooie dagvullende tour van 09.00 tot 16.30 uur. Vooral het eerste deel (tot ongeveer 12.30 uur) konden we waarderen. In die tijd bezochten we de floating village en het meer. We hadden een prima gids die ons van veel informatie voorzag, wat echt een meerwaarde was. De middag werd verder gevuld met stops bij o.a. een botanische tuin (niet echt de moeite waard), royal palace (korte stop, wel leuke uitleg), Wat Bo (mooi complex) en Artisan Angkor (werkplaats voor beitelen in hout/steen en weven van zijde, leuk om te zien). Het enige wat een beetje tegenstaat op een dag als dit, zijn de 'vrijblijv
Le village flottant est un endroit sublime même si, à cette période de l’année (saison sèche) les pilotis sont visibles. Nous avons pu partager, le temps d’une visite, le mode de vie de ces pêcheurs. Une visite à ne pas manquer à Siem Reap.
