Full description
This is a 9-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Banteay Srei, Neak Pean and Preah Khan. It is run by Siem Reap Shuttle, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Banteay Srei lies 37 kilometres north-east of the main Angkor group and is carved in a pink sandstone that holds detail no other Khmer temple keeps: the lintels and pediments are cut deep enough to throw real shadow, which is why it is called the citadel of women. It is small, it was consecrated in 967 to Shiva, and it was built by a brahmin rather than a king. Because it is out on its own it is usually paired with Kbal Spean, the river of a thousand lingas, where Shiva carvings lie in and under the stream bed and the walk up is about 1.5 kilometres of forest path. Both close earlier than the central temples, so they are morning stops.

We had a wonderful day exploring Banteay Srei and the Grand 5 temples with Mr KingKong. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive throughout the tour. He explained the history and details of the temples clearly and made sure we had enough time to enjoy and take photos at each place. Unforgettable Day on the Grand Circuit with guide nicknamed KingKong! While popular outer spots like Banteay Srei were lovely, the absolute highlights of our day were the breathtaking, less-promoted temples along the main loop: Ta Som and Pre Rep are only 2 from the list. What made this tour truly elite was our guide, KingKong. He has an incredibly fun, interactive way of sharing history. Rather than just giving us a standard lecture, he kept us completely engaged with hands-on storytelling and unique insights that brought the ancient stones to life. 1000% recommend him and the tour!

Amazing tour. It wasn’t a lot of us therefore things went a little been smooth. You’ll see 5 beautiful temples. Mr. Ra explained everything so well and at this point you can tell all the tour guide are knowledgeable about the history and all. I had fun

This trip covered some impressive temples and the day just flew by due to a well planned itinerary and a enthusiastic tour guide, Nara who knew his history and gave lots of context to the temples we visited.
Honestly I’d already seen the Grand 5 temples but REALLY wanted to see Banteay Srei and the tour didn’t disappoint. New information and spots for the repeated temples was wonderful and Banteay Srei was stunning, such attention to detail and beauty. Lok, the guide, was fabulous! Highly recommend.
Very good trip with Lok and Wen. Lok is an excellent guide and he explained interesting insights about all the temples in great detail. The temples were gorgeous, with such beautiful and intricate carvings, especially Banteay Srei. I really enjoyed Nean Peak and Preah Khan as well. The van was very comfortable and the pace of the tour was just right. overall we had a great experience with Lok, and I highly recommend this tour.

Everything was great, the guide and driver were fantastic. Only let down was the restaurant. Food was slow to arrive, we only ordered juices, but they took 45 min to arrive. This didn’t affect the value of the trip or reflect on the work of the guide.

Great day exploring the outer temples of Angkor area. Our guide Phyrom gave us a lot of information and took pictures for us. Our driver was great also and had plenty of cold water and towels as the day was very hot! Stopped at a nice restaurant for lunch as well. Highly recommend this tour and Phyrom as a guide!!
