Battambang is Cambodia's second city and the calmest of them, a riverside town of French shophouses about three hours from Siem Reap. The bamboo train, the norry, is a bamboo platform on wheels driven by a small motor down a single track; when two meet, the lighter one is lifted off the rails by hand. The original line at O Dambong was replaced by a purpose-built tourist track at Banan. At dusk, millions of wrinkle-lipped bats stream out of a cliff cave at Phnom Sampeau for about half an hour in an unbroken ribbon, and the same hill carries a killing-cave memorial from the Khmer Rouge years. Our guide, Mr Sin, picked us up on time and was informative and cheery throughout. The car was comfy and well equipped and we had water supplied throughout the day. The free lunch was probably the best food I'd had in Cambodia and was tapas style so you could try different things. The best part for me was the bats as I loved seeing them all exit the caves however all parts of the trip was fantastic!
Maya and Kim were great guides looking after us all the time. Great experience on the bamboo train. Never seen so many bats.

All day was super enjoyable and Jay is the best tour guide. His stories about his country and his people were so good. We enjoy Battambang market and very good local lunch in nice restaurant. Bamboo train was very funny, killing caves were sad, but real history and at the end of the day bat caves. We suggest this trip a lot.
The tour really exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend! We even got plenty and lovely homemade food for lunch, with allergies taken care of. The guide was also very nice and enthusiastic.
We have had the most amazing day full of information and experiences could not have asked for a better guide Jay he showed us all the French colonial buildings going round the market was brilliant and also the bamboo train, killing caves and bat caves is an experience that we will never forget. Our driver was brilliant picking us up from Siem Reap and informing us on the way about Cambodia, kept us fully hydrated and both were a joy to have such a wonderful trip with I cannot praise them enough.
