Full description
A full-day trip from Siem Reap that visits Krong Battambang. The price covers Hotel pickup and drop-off, Unlimited mineral water and cold towel and Transportation by tuk-tuk. It does not cover personal expenses, tips and bamboo train fee: $5 per person, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price. Battambang is Cambodia's second city and the calmest of them, a riverside town of French shophouses about three hours from Siem Reap. The bamboo train, the norry, is a bamboo platform on wheels driven by a small motor down a single track; when two meet, the lighter one is lifted off the rails by hand. The original line at O Dambong was replaced by a purpose-built tourist track at Banan. At dusk, millions of wrinkle-lipped bats stream out of a cliff cave at Phnom Sampeau for about half an hour in an unbroken ribbon, and the same hill carries a killing-cave memorial from the Khmer Rouge years. The price steps with party size rather than multiplying: 1 traveller is $117, 4 is $117 and 7 is $234. You are quoted the total for your party, not a per-head rate. Angkor Focus Travel runs it. We book with them directly, so the guide who meets you works for the operator rather than for a reseller.

Intimate tour tailored to our needs. Highly recommended!!! This was a great alternative to the large group tour (we did that one, two days before). The group size is 4 max. which meant we got more time to chat with our guide Kim, and learn more about his family history and Cambodian culture. It also means that the tour was more personalised and flexible. Kim took us to the secret bat cave, which had a nicer setting than the touristy one and more bats! Excellente journée en compagnie de Sin Kuok (David). Il est venu le matin nous récupérer à l'hôtel. Nous avons débuté notre tour par les bâtiments coloniaux, puis des dégustations dans le marché (belle expérience) et l'histoire de la Statue tadam Bong Kro Aung. Ensuite le pond suspendu, différents temples et le train de bambou pour terminer la matinée (5$/personne). La visite des habitants qui preparent les nouilles était vraiment intéressante (+ dégustation). Le temple wat banan a surtout de l'intérêt de par sa vue (300/400 marches. 1$/personne). un guide extra. un programme très bien rythmé et varié. Pas d'ennui et très belles découvertes. on ne voit pas la journée passer. la balade en tuk tuk est parfaite pour ce type de journée.
Vores guide, David Panha, var meget opmærksom på at fortælle om oplevelserne samt fortalte om Cambodias historie og kultur. Han var meget opmærksom på at vi havde det godt, havde koldt vand og en god oplevelse. Vores favoritdele af turen var en gåtur rundt på markedet og flagermusegrotten. Bambustoget var okay, men ikke et must i vores mening.
Superbe journée en compagnie de l'adorable Kim ! Beaucoup de connaissances historiques, d'explications sur la ville, les monuments. De nombreuses dégustations de spécialités locales et une infinie gentillesse. Les routes de campagne ont donné lieu à l'exploration de nombreuses productions agricoles, c'était passionnant. Kim a aussi été a l'écoute de nos envies que ce soit pour déjeuner ou nos souhaits de visite toute la journée, c'était extra ! Merci encore Kim !!! On recommande fortement.
