A half-day trip from Siem Reap that visits Krong Siem Reap. The price covers Hotel pick-up & drop-off, Licensed local guide and Scenic boat trip. It does not cover personal expenses, soft drinks & alcohol and boat ticket fee (if applicable), so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price. The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month. The price steps with party size rather than multiplying: 1 traveller is $103, 3 is $153 and 5 is $254. You are quoted the total for your party, not a per-head rate. Cambodia Adventure Tour runs it. We book with them directly, so the guide who meets you works for the operator rather than for a reseller.

It was a lovely trip out on the water. The guide Horn was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. The Khmer lunch we had in the local village was lovely and the chef was extremely welcoming.
The guide never showed up in the morning. We tried to contact the company but without success. Later we were told the guide had been sick. We asked to be reimbursed and we were but it was still frustrating to have wasted a day.
our tour was great, Kinhak was full of knowledge and enthusiasm, and it was wonderful to see a different way of life in the floating villages. the food was amazing... we helped to make a banana blossom salad, and we ate this with a fish amok, as well as fruits from the garden
There was a guide at the hotel in the morning ( who turned out to be a nice guy) but did not know what tour we booked. There was a lot of confusion and phonecalls etc… the tour was not updated on the website but does not exist any longer.. eventually we went to the lotus farm ( not initially in our tour) and continue to the floating village and ended up having lunch , first time the guide was there, and looked at some cooking.. it was made fresh for us. It turned out to be a very nice day, thanks to the willingness and friendliness of the Cambodian people but not the tour we booked!!
