This is an experience in Siem Reap, built around Siem Reap, Hidden gem and Kampong Phluk. It is run by Passion Indochina Travel Co.,Ltd., an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month.

Ravy is a nice enthusiast guide, who likes to tell about life in Cambodia. Also he learns you a few basic Cambodian frases. And he showed us some nice small company’s to understand the way people makes their money. But above all, he showed us the village Kampong Phluk in a fine way. So five stars for him.
