This is an experience from Siem Reap, built around Ro Lus Market, Kampong Phluk and Tonlé Sap. It is run by Passion Indochina Travel Co.,Ltd., an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month.

Of all the trips I had booked I was the least excited about this one. As it turns seeing the actual village blew my mind and was one of the hilights of my trip. You have to see it to believe it. Seeing everyday life there was incredible. The colourful market we were guided through before getting on the boat was so vibrant and colourful. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledge and a lovely person. Can't recommend this trip enough
What a fantastic experience! Our guide was a helpful, friendly, knowledgeable local who showed us amazing sites and guided us with wonderful information and activities such as a walk through a local market. The floating village and walk was so interesting. There were parts that were a bit too touristy (animals in cages :(, but overall was a wonderful, unique and relaxing experience for the whole family.

Nai was a great tourguide! His English is perfect and he has a big knowledge about all the topics - including the floating village where he was born. His knowledge about the country, politics and any other topic connected to Cambodia is great. I really enjoyed the tour. It was morning tour and it lasted around 3 hours where we had enough time to see the floating village, walk trough it but also stop on floating restaurant and aligator farm. L’activité est incontournable au Cambodge, j’ai beaucoup aimé ce mode de vie, loin de la ville qui nous transporte dans le « vivons l’instant présent. On a eu de la pluie le jour de l’excursion et j’ai adoré. Les enfants du village jouer avec une telle énergie et joie de vivre que c’était un dépaysement de notre vie moderne. Les paysages tellement simples et plein de vie avec des pêcheurs dans leurs barques mais aussi dans l’eau avec des filets ou des lignes de pêche sans canne. Absolument magnifique et à voir . Merci à notre guide MR PIP qui nous a raconté l’histoire de ce village. Très bonne
Virkelig en fed tur, hvor man får set det helt lokale Cambodja som Sien Reap midtby måske ikke afspejler helt så meget. Flodsamfundet var virkelig interessant at se. Turen var disponeret perfekt mht. tid og guiden Nai var enormt dygtig til at fortælle og lære fra sig - kunne svare på alle spørgsmål og var meget behagelig.
