Full description
This is a 4-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around River boat. It is run by Passion Indochina Travel Co.,Ltd., an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month.

Our guide was Ry Sareth. Communication before the tour was excellent. We were collected from our hotel. & taken to a cafe where other guests joined us. Then by aircon bus to a village on the side of the lake, a walk through, then a drive to out boat departure point. Approx 12 in our group. The lake cruise was good & we stopped at a floating cafe/shop before heading back to the boat departure point, then aircon bus dropping each guest at their hotels. A worthwhile tour & Ry Sareth was a good guide. Recommended.

This is a sunset tour of the floating village. Overall great experience seeing how the fishing village operates.
It was genuinely fantastic, our tour guide sailor had an answer for everything from the floating village to the temples and how they make silk from the lotus flower. Honestly such a fun day highly recommend this tour.

The tour was very well organized. We were contacted about the pick up time and location before the tour. Our guide was a very nice gentleman with excellent communication skills. The floating village is an amazing place to see. The river motorboat tour was awesome; however, the return part of the tour was cut short. The scenery on the right side during the outbound journey was more impressive, and since I was seated on the left side of the motorboat, I hadn’t recorded enough footage, thinking that I would see it on the way back. Parla inglese molto bene, ti spiega moltissime cose sulla cultura, usi, abitudini… molto aperto al dialogo, persona molto socievole che mi ha dato consigli per il mio viaggio, a prescindere dal tour che stavamo facendo. Molto bella e interessante la visitiamo ad un vero mercato e molto bella anche la visita al villaggio, nella stagione secca sicuramente non rende bene l’idea ma vale assolutamente la pena di venirci anche per aiutare la comunità.
