Full description
This is a 6-hour experience in Siem Reap. It is run by Siem Reap Shuttle, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month.
Pickup is offered from Sok San Road, Bakheng Road, 7 Makara Street, National Road 6, Krong Siem Reap and Salakamreuk Rd; the exact spot and time are agreed with Siem Reap Shuttle once the booking is confirmed, and the option you choose sets whether transport is included.

Very nice and interesting trip. Absolutely recommended. The pick up was from the hotel. Just on time. There were 2 persons. One driver and one guide, a very nice guy with very good english. The car was big (Lexus) and comfortable. The walk in the village and the boat trip were amazing. You can see how local people are living. They do not bother at all from tourist taking pictures or video. The fee goes to the community, so all of them are willing to discuss with you and show their way of living.
The visit of Kompong Khleang village was a great experience. Dara and Chhat were very kind and willing to answer my questions. Even though I wasn’t given a lot of information, the tour was peaceful and stress free. Thank you very much Dara!
Interesting trip and our guide Dara was knowledgeable and interesting. We were visiting this area at the wrong time of year to get the full effect as it is in the rainy season it truly ‘floats’ but enjoyable nevertheless

Bonne expérience pour visiter le village flottant de Kompong Khleang, un peu plus eloigné que les villages flottants habituellement proposés à la visite depuis siem reap. nous étions les seuls touristes ce qui a été agréable et a rendu l'expérience plus authentique. Notre guide et le chauffeur sont venus nous chercher à notre hôtel dans un véhicule confortable et climatisé, ils nous ont conduit à quelques stops pour des explications, voir la façon dont sont cuits les poissons pêchés dans le lac et goûter du riz gluant. le guide nous a donné plein d'informations sur le village flottant, c'etait
