Full description
This is a 11-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Preah Dak, Phnom Kulen National Park and Poeng Ta Kho (Amazing Cliff). It is run by ASEAN ANGKOR GUIDE, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month.
Pickup is offered from Siem Reap Province and Krong Siem Reap; the exact spot and time are agreed with ASEAN ANGKOR GUIDE once the booking is confirmed, and the option you choose sets whether transport is included.
The price covers English speaking tour guide, Transportation with A/C, Hotel pick-up and drop off, Unlimited bottled water and cool towels during the excursion and Picnic lunch. It does not cover Kulen Mountain pass: $20 per pax, Tonle Sap pass plus a shared boat: $15 per pax and Soft drinks, so budget for those separately. Our guide Sa was the most genuine, respectful, knowledgeable tour guide I have ever experienced! Every step of the way he made sure we were comfortable and explained the religious and historical stops with immense details. He has been a monk for 7 years and was extremely thoughtful and open to questions. He even gave us Cambodian scarves at the end! He also provided towels, water, and snacks and fruit throughout the trip. Would highly recommend!

Our guide Seila was great he had a lot of knowledge about all the different places and cultures. The tour itself was well organized, easy to book, and they communicated well in the lead up. Our driver Mr Theara was also very good. We both thoroughly enjoyed our day.

our day was long and absolutely worth it. from the mountain to the floating village was an incredible experience. we were taken care of from water to a delicious lunch. our guide Mr.Dara and our driver Mr. Theara definitely made our trip fun, they were professional and so very kind.
We had a brilliant time on this tour. The itinerary was well-paced, the transportation was comfortable, and everything ran on time. Our guide Jan was exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly. He is also a AMAZING photographer! Our driver was also great and we felt very safe with him driving.
The trip to the Kulen mountains was great stopping at a palm cake bakery (yum) lookouts, sacred river sites, an 8m Buddha reclining Buddha and the waterfall for a swim. Lunch by the river was traditional and lovely. Back to Kampong Phluk for the detailed and interesting walk through the village of stilt houses (dry season) showing the fish drying and smoking by many of the families. Also where the water level rises to in the wet season when the only way around is by boat. Then a boat ride out to a floating tourist bar/cafe complete with crocodile! The sunset unfortunately didn’t happen for us
What an amazing day with our guide Mr Makara. He made us feel very welcome and his knowledge is amazing! We all felt very comfortable with him and his happy nature is very infectious. The locations we went to were amazing and we received a gift of cambodian scarf for all of us was very cool. Overall it was a fantastic day and my family would highly recommend this tour.
