Full description
This is a 10-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Bus/coach, Banteay Srei and Poeng Ta Kho (Amazing Cliff). It is run by Angkor Day Trip, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Banteay Srei lies 37 kilometres north-east of the main Angkor group and is carved in a pink sandstone that holds detail no other Khmer temple keeps: the lintels and pediments are cut deep enough to throw real shadow, which is why it is called the citadel of women. It is small, it was consecrated in 967 to Shiva, and it was built by a brahmin rather than a king. Because it is out on its own it is usually paired with Kbal Spean, the river of a thousand lingas, where Shiva carvings lie in and under the stream bed and the walk up is about 1.5 kilometres of forest path. Both close earlier than the central temples, so they are morning stops.

The tour was well organised, we had the chance to visit many different places, both historical and naturalistic. The guide, Tann, supplied us many detailed informations about temples and the mithology that stands behind them. A special metiontion goes to Bantey Srei, which is a unique and suggestive place you definitively don't have to miss. Our tour with Tann and our driver Nat was perfect. Tann was very friendly and knowledgeable so conducted the tour perfectly. They looked after us very well, providing us with lots of water and cold towels throughout the day. The itinerary of the tour was also excellent and allowed us to see some beautiful temples, a breath-taking waterfall and other cultural sights. We had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant during the tour as well. This tour was perfect - thank you Tann and Nat for a great start to our holiday!
