Full description
This is a 4-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Wat Damnak, Phsa Kraom Market and Local café. It is run by Siem Reaper Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Khmer food is milder than Thai and sourer than Vietnamese, built on prahok fermented fish paste and on kroeung, a lemongrass, galangal, turmeric and kaffir-lime paste pounded fresh. The dish everyone is taught is fish amok, a coconut curry steamed in a banana-leaf cup until it sets like a custard; lok lak, pepper-seared beef with a lime-and-pepper dipping sauce, is the other. Kampot pepper, which has a protected origin, turns up in both. Classes usually start in a market, where the guide walks you through the fermented fish, the palm sugar and the river fish before anything is cooked.

Had tasty local foods that I would not be able to try on my own easily since some required assembly or explanation. Jay, my guide, did a great job answering all my questions, identifying all the fruits and vegetables in the market and making sure the experience went smoothly!
The tour was amazing. My guide Phearon is very good tour guide and is full of knowledge! I saw local market, fillwd with fruits, vegetables, meats, fishes and other food. I tried local fried donut and had local breakfast - grilled pork with rice and Cambodian noodle with curry soup! Phearon also took me to see a lot of street art and explained me, why is it so importiant!
we really enjoyed the food tour this morning with Ravy. He was full of life and made sure our kids were engaged too.The food we tried this morning was exceptionally good and the cherry on the cake was the trip to the local market where we were able to witness the how everyday life for the locals is here. Ravy quizzed us on the local herbs and other condinements and the local delicacies too..The best part was that our kids were able to learn a few local Cambodia names and words too. The tuk tuk driver was exceptionally good and made sure we were well hydrated since it was a hot and humid mornin

I liked all the local places we stopped for food and enjoyed seeing Siem Reap. As a solo traveler, they make me feel very comfortable.
