A full-day trip from Siem Reap that visits Krong Siem Reap, Beng Mealea, Phnom Kulen National Park and Kampong Phluk. The price covers Kulen Ticket, Boat Fee and Temple Fee. It does not cover soft drinks and personal expenses not in and tip tour guide and driver (optional), so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price. The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month. The price steps with party size rather than multiplying: 1 traveller is $246, 4 is $411 and 7 is $628. You are quoted the total for your party, not a per-head rate. BREKSA TRAVEL runs it. Leider haben wir den Ausflug abbrechen müssen, da die Hitze zu groß war und es uns nicht gut ging. Deshalb konnten wir den Teil mit dem Tonle Sap See nicht mehr machen. Aber bis dahin war alles super. Die Kulen Mountain und Beng Malea waren sehr interessant und unser Guide sehr nett. Er hat uns auf der Fahrt auch viel über Kambodscha erzählt, was wirklich interessant war.
