Full description
This is an 8-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm Temple and Bayon Temple. It is run by BAYON GUIDES, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Sunrise at Angkor Wat is watched from the edge of the northern reflecting pool, where the five towers come up black against the sky and then double in the water. The ticket office opens at 04:30 and Angkor Wat lets people in from 05:00, which is why tours leave Siem Reap around 04:30 for a twenty-minute drive; the sky colours before the sun clears the towers, so arriving at first light is already late for the best of it. Dry season from November to March gives the cleanest skies, while the rains bring cloud that can either kill the sunrise or make it. The pool edge fills early, the southern pool is usually quieter, and a guide who knows which side to stand on is the difference between a photograph and a wall of raised phones.

Long was an excellent guide, and Mr. Chear was a very good driver. We loved the Jeep, especially my 12 year old son. We weren’t able to see the sunrise because it was pouring rain, but we really enjoyed the tour despite the rain. Long is very knowledgeable and speaks very good English. The temples are incredible. My husband and I had seen them before, but our son had not, and he was amazed. I cannot recommend the temples, Long, and Mr. Chear enough!
Can highly recommend the tour! Long made Ankor Wat really special to us - great details about history and country. He is an awesome guide and makes the difference by the perfect mix of fun & entertainment combined with lots of stories about culture & history. Looking forward to the next trip to Cambodia - with Long for sure!
This tour was amazing. Our guide, Long, was super friendly, accommodating, and extremely knowledgeable. Our driver, Pov, was fantastic too! The tour itself was informative and enjoyable - Long knew the best times and places to go to avoid crowds but still experience the critical wonders of Angkor Wat and local temples. He also took us to an authentic Cambodian lunch after, selecting all the dishes (at our request). He made it a very personable and wonderful day - it felt like we were touring with a friend (a much smarter friend) all day. Would recommend Long and Pov 10 times over!

Our guide Long (his nick name) was really awesome. Born in Siam Reap he is well informed about past & presence. He is a sympathetic and energetic guy who goes the extra mile to service his customers. We felt very welcomed by his friendliness and really enjoyed the time with him. He easily adopts to the wishes of his clients, providing convincing details about Angkor Wat as well as taking it more easy after some hours of exploring the vast temple area. His English is - in comparison to the local standard - outstanding. We were picked up in a cool and clean hybrid limousine and served with chill
James was a great guide he showed us round the temples explaining all the history etc in detail and he kept our energy up after the early start to catch sunrise.

Our guide Leang was there as arranged at 4.40am for private tour .He explaimed the day ahead of us.At Angkor Wat he took us to the best spot away from the crowds to witness the sunrise.Leang knowledge of the carvings on the walls of Angkor Wat was amazing.His english was very good and always asked if there was any questions.He even taught me a few things about taking photos as the photos he took were excellent. We are very happy that Leang was our tour guide for this tour and we would highly recommend him.
Pal Chen was or tour guide and he was really good. He knows where to go to avoid the crowd and yet we get to see the beautiful structure and carvings of the ancient temples. He is also very knowledgeable in the history of his country. I’m glad that I picked this tour.
We started at 04:40 AM for our tour to Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom and it was the right decision to choose Bayon Guides for that tour. Our tour guide, Mr Chomnan, was just perfect. He knows the best places for a unforgettable picture (some places are crowded but he also know special places which nobody else knows..!) and he gave us so many informations about the temples and the country...it was amazing. He and the driver was always on time, very nice and obliging and he made our trip to an unforgettable experience!!
Tour guide was really good and very knowledgeable and spoke good English. We opted out of the Bakheng mountain tour as we did it the next day and it would have been too long a day with the early start. The sunrise at Angkor Wat was worth getting up for with the masses and the private tour meant we got there quickly and managed to secure a good spot, Angkor Tom and Ta Prohm were also very impressive. Great tour bundling in some amazing sites. If you only have one day for a tour, this one would tick all the boxes!
Our tour guide Mr Chomnan was very knowledgeable and proactive in sharing with us the history and stories surrounding Angkor Wat, Ta Prohm and Angkor Thom. The most amazing thing was that he doubled up as a great photographer, giving us wonderful memories of our visit. We wouldnt have it any other way. Highly recommended!
