A half-day trip from Siem Reap that visits Krong Siem Reap, Bus/coach, Kampong Phluk and River boat. There are 5 stops altogether, so it fills the day rather than leaving long gaps between two or three highlights. The price covers Tour guide, Minivan with AC and Cool water. It does not cover meals and canoe boat (small boat explore under flo, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price. The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month. Priced per person at about $26 each, so a party of 8 comes to $208. It is an absolute must for anyone visiting Siem Reap. The lake itself, the village, it is all genuinely unbelievable. The tour has been perfectly organized, the guide Pon is very friendly and helpful and knows a lot about the area. The canoeing trip is worth the 5 dollars you will need to pay extra.

The floating village tour was amazing, it’s very interesting to see how these people live. We did a mangroves canoe boat as well as a walk around the village to see the school and children learning English. Our tour guide Bory (Tom) was very engaging and led a really great tour :) A really amazing tour and would recommend!
