This is a 5-hour experience in Siem Reap. It is run by Siem Reap Shuttle, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month.

after the pick up from the hotel, we got on the bus, headed to the village. i got in Cambofia in the dry season, so the bus went to the main road, otherwise reachable only by boat. still very interesting to see what's otherwise submerged by meters of water. beautiful and touching for sure. we then got to the temple, then the boat, following the river to the lake. stunning place, fresher and very alive. we docked the floating restaurant, with live crocodiles, and had something to eat and drink. 5' before sunset we went on the terrace above to witness a spectacular sunset. then back on the boat,

I had a good experience on the tour, and the guides were very kind and knowledgeable. However, there were a couple of areas for improvement. The bus we traveled in was somewhat old and noisy, which made for a less comfortable ride, due to the bumpy road. Additionally, the group size was quite large, making it challenging to hear the guide's insights while we explored Kampong Phluk. I found it difficult to take photos and catch all the information being shared at the same time. Overall, I enjoyed the tour and felt it was well-priced for what was offered. Best sunset, we were the last tour group on the water and the guide makesure to stay out long to see it all and everyone has a view. Nan is very knowledgeable and friendly. This tour is amazing value, I wasn’t sure due to it being cheaper than others however we had a great time. They were very accommodating and happy to drop us at hotels or pub street and other locations on return in the evening. 100% recommend Only negative is that in a big group it could be hard to hear our guide Nan, however he was happy to clarify and answer questions and I just made sure to stand near him.
Didn’t disappoint, was sceptical at low cost but truly outdid my expectations - definitely worth it. Couldn’t identify any difference between more expensive and this option.
I can't believe the price of this tour, it's really cheap. The tour was wonderful experience. I really enjoyed my time with this tour. I really recommend it to others people who want to see real floating village.
