Full description
This is a 4-hour experience from Siem Reap, built around Tonlé Sap. It is run by Tara Riverboat, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and it reverses direction twice a year: in the monsoon the Mekong pushes water back up the Tonle Sap river and the lake swells several times over, then drains again from about November. The villages on it live with that. Kampong Phluk's stilt houses stand six to ten metres up on their legs, dry underneath in March and wading depth in October; Kampong Khleang is larger, further out and far less visited; Chong Kneas is closest to Siem Reap and the most touristed. Which village works, and whether the boat can reach the flooded forest at all, depends entirely on the month.

this was an excellent tour and adventure. I was happy to meet a new friend and enjoy the beauty of the floating villages and Tonle Sap lake. learning about this area was very interesting, and seeing a floating market was quite unusual. The sunset and the moon on the lake were both beautiful!
An was a delightful smiley,funny and informative guide. Food was great. unlimited drinks. Boat Queen Tara was awesome. 100 years old and full of character. Pretty special lying on an hammock in the sun listening to the water. All I will say is the boat was virtually empty which is sad I would really encourage people to do this trip as it is a unique experience.

Va was our tour guide for this and was great. Really warm and knowledgeable throughout the entire journey. Made a quick stop to see the Lotus Flowers, then the main event towards the floating village. Really great experience on the boat, the end buffet dinner on the stationary bigger boat was ok, was not helped too much with the weather, can imagine in season the sunset would have been spectacular. Would still recommend as a fun afternoon/early evening activity
more information about the lake and the marine life closer look at the floating villages and the water levels how the crocodiles are kept and looked after
Interesting tour that included a Lotus farm with stilted houses over the water. A small boat tour of the floating villages, moving 7 times a year as the water rises and falls including schools and churches! The Lara Queen was the large boat for our sunset dinner, it was rustic but a great location to see the sunset.
A very enjoyable late afternoon and early evening experiencing the floating village and enjoying a meal on the Tonle Sap lake watching the sunset. Good okay with plenty of drinks. Our guide Hong or was it Hung 😱😂 made it an enjoyable experience.

Great fun, picked up on time, nice vehicle, explained the program, stopped a couple of times on the bus, may have bee good to be able to try the local food at the side of the road, but no big deal. Small boat for a trip to the Queen Tara was great fun, I sat on the roof. Croc farm was a little sad to see the conditions they are kept in, but no fault of the trip, then to Tara, lovely old boat. Nice food no restriction on what you ate or drank. Super sunset, watched with a cocktail in hand to good music.
The tour was exactly as described and great value for money. Our guide was good and informative. Dinner on the Queen Tara was a good Cambodian spread of food.
