Overall, this was a great tour - you definitely eat A LOT. Our guide was incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgable and personable. We had five stops: 1) a local market outside of the tourist area of town 2) a Japanese-owned shop that featured locally made Cambodian foods, spirits, and goods - I thought this would be an "annoying shopping stop" and it was actually worth it for gifts/souvenirs - 3) the night market where, yes, we ate cricket, worms, grasshoppers, beetles and small frogs 4) a food stall where we tried five or six different Cambodian dishes and finally 5) a restaurant where we at
The food tour in Siem Reap was really interesting !The guide, Chaay was his name I think , was very friendly,funny and was speaking English really well! We went to a traditional market far from the tourist areas,I was probably the only tourist there! Chaay suggested what I should try and all of his suggestions really worth it!The transportation with the tuck - tuck was very interesting! We went to another open air market where we tasted some stuff and ended up having dinner in a very nice restaurant! A food tour really worth it!
Had a great time with Sokpee exploring a couple of different local markets and trying all sorts of street food (crickets, grasshopper, meal worms, duck eggs). Sokpee is very knowledgeable and I enjoyed getting to learn more about their culture through our casual conversations.
A wonderful experience. My guide Nil made it educational and fun. I will do this again when I return.
We really liked the tour! We were 4 people from Hungary & Austria, we were picked up at the hotel by 2 tuktuks and visited the local market. Not the one in the city center but a bigger one for locals at the side of the town with no tourists at all. Mr. Pheng has explained everything, told about the history, buildings, local lifestyle, everything in English. After the local market, we went to another area, where he showed us all the street foods including insects and any other stuff. Amazing experience! Our guide Sok showed us very interesting local markets which we would have never discovered otherwise and introduced us to the most special Cambodian streetfood. We finished the evening in a grill restaurant and went home with full tummies and lots of snacks for the next days. Thank you very much! :-)
Great getting away from the tourist areas and experiencing real Cambodian culture
This was a really great way to try some authentic Cambodian Street food. Our guide, Nil, was friendly and knowledgeable. The experience is absolutely worth it!
Unser Tour Guide Mr. Pheng, hatte sehr gute Englisch Kenntnisse. Abholung am Hotel mit einem Tuk Tuk war sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und zum vereinbarten Zeitpunkt. Erster Stopp war ein lokaler Markt, den wir ohne Guide niemals gefunden hätten. Wir konnten viele landestypische Speisen probieren. Mr. Pheng ging dabei immer auf unsere Wünsche ein. Der nächste Stopp war ein sehr großer Markt, wo es außer Speisen und Getränken auch Dinge für den täglichen Bedarf zu kaufen gab.
