A 2-day trip out of Beijing taking in Great Wall Hike, Camping Workshop & Sunset, Meet at Dongsi and Depart Beijing, Mountain Safety Briefing and Guided Hike and Local Specialty Dinner Near the Mountains. There are 9 stops in all.
The running order is Great Wall Hike, Camping Workshop & Sunset, then Meet at Dongsi and Depart Beijing, then Mountain Safety Briefing and Guided Hike, then Local Specialty Dinner Near the Mountains, then Hands-On Tent Setup Workshop, and on from there.
The price covers 1. Complimentary shared transfer from eligible hotels inside Beijing’s Fourth Ring Road to the Dongsi departure point, 2. Shared round-trip air-conditioned coach between central Beijing and the designated Great Wall camping area, 3. English-speaking guide accompanying the group and 4. Guided hike through part of the confirmed Great Wall landscape. It does not cover 1. Hotel pickup outside the published Fourth Ring Road service area, 2. Great Wall Hike, Camping Workshop & Sunset
If your hotel is inside the eligible Fourth Ring Road service area, take a complimentary shared transfer to the Dongsi departure point. The pickup time is confirmed on the evening before departure and the vehicle may make other stops. Travelers outside the service area meet directly at Dongsi.
Meet at Dongsi and Depart Beijing
Meet the English-speaking guide at Dongsi Subway Station at 12:00 PM. Arrive about 15 minutes early, complete the group check-in, and board the scheduled shared air-conditioned coach. The vehicle cannot wait for late arrivals
Mountain Safety Briefing and Guided Hike
After reaching the confirmed Great Wall area, receive a practical briefing on mountain conditions, route boundaries, weather awareness, and safe movement. Follow the guide over steps, mountain paths, and part of the Great Wall landscape at a pace suited to the group.
Local Specialty Dinner Near the Mountains
Enjoy an included local specialty dinner in the nearby mountain area. The meal is served away from the Great Wall itself, and its exact timing may be arranged before or after part of the hike according to seasonal daylight, camp access, and daily operations.
Hands-On Tent Setup Workshop
At the designated campsite, learn to assemble the tent with step-by-step support from the guide. Position the camping mat, prepare the sleeping bag, organize essential belongings, learn how to use your headlamp after dark, and understand the safe campsite boundary.
Sunset and a Back-to-Basics Mountain Night
Watch the evening light settle over the mountain ridges when weather and visibility allow. After dark, sleep in the tent you helped prepare and experience a simple outdoor night away from Beijing’s city lights and hotel-style surroundings.
Wake for Mountain Sunrise
Wake before or around dawn and move to the confirmed viewing area. Watch for sunrise over the surrounding mountains when weather and visibility allow. Sunrise is a natural event and cannot be guaranteed.
Simple Chinese Breakfast
Enjoy the included Chinese breakfast after the early-morning viewing period. Take time to warm up, check your personal belongings, and prepare for the practical camp pack-down session.
Responsible Camp Pack-Down
With guidance, pack the tent, sleeping bag, and camping mat correctly. Check the campsite for personal items and litter, restore the area as instructed, and learn the basic leave-no-trace habits expected in a mountain environment.
Return to Beijing by Shared Coach
Leave the mountain area and return to Dongsi Subway Station by shared air-conditioned coach. The exact departure and arrival times depend on weather, camp operations, mountain access, road conditions, and Beijing traffic.
