Dies ist ein 8-stuendiges Erlebnis ab Siem Reap, rund um South Gate of Angkor Thom und Bayon and Baphuon. Angkor Wat wurde in der ersten Haelfte des 12. Jahrhunderts von Suryavarman II als hinduistischer Tempel fuer Vishnu errichtet, spaeter buddhistisch genutzt, und ist mit rund 162 Hektar innerhalb seines Grabens das groesste religioese Monument der Welt. Im Gegensatz zu fast jedem anderen Khmer-Tempel ist er nach Westen ausgerichtet. Die aeussere Galerie traegt etwa 600 Meter Flachrelief, darunter das Buttern des Milchozeans, und die zentralen Tuerme stellen den Berg Meru dar. Auf der oberen Ebene gilt eine tatsaechlich durchgesetzte Kleiderordnung: Schultern und Knie bedeckt, keine Unterhemden, sonst werden Sie an der Treppe zurueckgewiesen. Ein Angkor Pass ist erforderlich und kostet 37 USD fuer einen Tag, 62 fuer drei und 72 fuer sieben, nur ueber Angkor Enterprise erhaeltlich; unter 12-Jaehrige sind mit Pass kostenlos.

La ruta es increíble. El primer día estuvimos solos con el guía Rhad y el segundo día con otra familia y el guía Antonio. Tienen mucha paciencia y esperan que veamos el lugar todo el tiempo que consideremos. Y los templos son impresionantes. Prácticamente en cada parada te dan agua y toallas para refrescarte (es muy necesario). Lo peor son los sitios para comer, sobre todo el del primer día, que comparado con otros lugares en los que hemos comido, la comida es mediocre, pero no te dan a elegir sino que te llevan de cosa hecha.
