Battambang ist Kambodschas zweite Stadt und die ruhigste von ihnen, eine Flussstadt mit franzoesischen Shophouses etwa drei Stunden von Siem Reap entfernt. Der Bambuszug, der Norry, ist eine Bambusplattform auf Raedern, angetrieben von einem kleinen Motor auf einer einzigen Schiene; wenn sich zwei treffen, wird der leichtere von Hand von den Gleisen gehoben. Die urspruengliche Strecke bei O Dambong wurde durch eine eigens gebaute Touristenstrecke bei Banan ersetzt. In der Dunkelheit stroemen Millionen faltenlippiger Fledermaeuse etwa eine halbe Stunde lang in einem ununterbrochenen Band aus einer Felshoehle am Phnom Sampeau, und derselbe Huegel trägt ein Mahnmal fuer eine Toetungshoehle aus den Jahren der Roten Khmer.

He walked with us up the mountain and shared personal stories about the khmer Rouge, and life in Cambodia. Couldn’t recommend this tour more! We had a great day with mr rich and really enjoyed the trip! We loved the bamboo train! The killing cave was very interesting and mr rich was very knowledgeable, they also have the option to get a jeep up which cost 10dollars for the 2 of us.
