Die Doerfer darauf leben damit. Die Pfahlhaeuser von Kampong Phluk stehen sechs bis zehn Meter hoch auf ihren Stelzen, im Maerz trocken darunter und im Oktober wadentief; Kampong Khleang ist groesser, weiter draussen und deutlich weniger besucht; Chong Kneas liegt am naechsten zu Siem Reap und ist am touristischsten. Welches Dorf passt und ob das Boot den ueberfluteten Wald ueberhaupt erreichen kann, haengt vollstaendig vom Monat ab.

It was a lovely trip out on the water. The guide Horn was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. The Khmer lunch we had in the local village was lovely and the chef was extremely welcoming.

The guide never showed up in the morning. We tried to contact the company but without success. Later we were told the guide had been sick. We asked to be reimbursed and we were but it was still frustrating to have wasted a day.

our tour was great, Kinhak was full of knowledge and enthusiasm, and it was wonderful to see a different way of life in the floating villages. the food was amazing... we helped to make a banana blossom salad, and we ate this with a fish amok, as well as fruits from the garden

There was a guide at the hotel in the morning ( who turned out to be a nice guy) but did not know what tour we booked. There was a lot of confusion and phonecalls etc… the tour was not updated on the website but does not exist any longer.. eventually we went to the lotus farm ( not initially in our tour) and continue to the floating village and ended up having lunch , first time the guide was there, and looked at some cooking.. it was made fresh for us. It turned out to be a very nice day, thanks to the willingness and friendliness of the Cambodian people but not the tour we booked!!
